KOTA KINABALU: The spirit of unity and respect will become stronger if the people come together confident and united in their shared values, said Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
"We have lived alongside each other as true Malaysians in Sabah. We have displayed tolerance, respect and understanding for each other," said the Sabah Chief Minister.
"This year, as Christians continue the Christmas traditions of family gatherings and celebrations, we should all, irrespective of our beliefs and religion, give thanks for everything that unites us.
"Let us recognise all the good that we have in our lives and celebrate the message of goodwill, kindness and compassion," he added, in his Christmas 2022 message on Friday (Dec 23).
Hajiji, who is Gabungan Rakyat Sabah chairman, said the past two years have been difficult for everyone having to deal with the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the adversity, he said, many had risen to the occasion to meet the challenging times with generosity, kindness and hope.
Towards this end, he recorded the state government’s appreciation towards the front line workers and from many others for their dedication and for putting themselves at risk to keep everyone else safe.
